Audits are not only a useful tool to assess how well the H&S is being integrated into your business, but are also a fundamental part of the SSIP accreditation application process to show that you are implementing the legislation into everyday procedures.
Accreditation
An International Standards Organisation is an internationally recognised standard.
Many different ISO standards cover a range of sectors and industries, and each ISO has a number, i.e. ISO 9001 is for Quality and ISO 45001 is for health and safety.
Companies apply to be audited against the standards to receive ISO certification. To be ISO certified, a company must demonstrate that they have a robust management system in place to meet the standard(s) they are applying for (multiple standards can be used for)
The management system must also generate evidence to show that procedures are regularly reviewed and that a culture of continuous improvement is in place.

Documentation & Policies

Risk Assessments and Method Statements
We can help you identify where the hazards are in your workplace. Looking at the severity and likelihood of each, we can calculate the likelihood of the hazard resulting in harm to your workforce.
Risk assessment is the process of identifying hazards on site. The likelihood of the hazard resulting in harm is then assessed for each of the hazards. The amount of risk can then be used to prioritise controls which will reduce the risk of injury.
The cornerstone of any organisation’s health & safety arrangements is the identification of potentially hazardous areas and activities. This works together with identifying any health & safety risks to people involved in each of those areas and activities, ensuring they follow the health & safety law (Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, Regulation 3).

Once the hazards have been identified, the first consideration is to determine whether it is possible to remove them completely. Where this is not possible, it must be controlled, or a safe system of works needs to be implemented.
